Help Rebuild BEBHS

By now you’ve probably heard about the terrible fire that hit the Berkeley East Bay Humane Society May 20, 2010, gutting the building, killing 15 animals and leaving the rest homeless. We at Paco Collars were especially affecting since one of our own was a fixture there for years (we’re actually referring to a human for once, Tim, not one of the animals).

When disaster strikes in your own backyard, you have to help out, and lucky for you we’ve come up with several ways you can help us pitch in and rebuild BEBHS. Take your pick:

— This May 22, go out and shop locally! Many local stores have agreed to donate 20% of their proceeds this Saturday to help benefit BEBHS. A complete list will be posted on this website, keep checking back as new stores will be added as they sign on: http://rebuildberkeleyhumane.org

— Sidewalk Sale at Paco Collars this May 22! Several local crafters will be setting up shop outside the store this Saturday to share their wares with proceeds going to BEBHS. Come check out all the cool stuff we have coming!

— Shop online! For those folks who are either busy Saturday or out of the area, many online stores have also agreed to donate 20% of Saturday proceeds to BEBHS (and some, like Paco Collars, will be extending the offer for the rest of the month). — Buy a collar this month! We’re actually extending our 20% to BEBHS for the entire month of May for in-store sales, so come on down any old time. This spring we’ll be open Tues-Sat 11-7 and Sunday 11-5. Don’t be shy, come say “hi”!

— Donate Directly! Yep, you can do things the old fashioned way and just give whatever you have. It’s easy, just visit the BEBHS website and click the “Donate” button: http://www.berkeleyhumane.org
